Description:
With an increased focus on bridge preservation across the nation, states have increasingly turned to nondestructive evaluation (NDE) techniques to quickly evaluate bridges, prioritize them, and develop preservation scopes for various bridge types. This workshop will bring together experts and stakeholders from various disciplines to discuss the significance of integrating NDE methodologies into preservation practices. This workshop will be an opportunity for state DOTs to share experiences, lessons learned, and best practices related to NDE, and use of information collected for bridge management (life-cycle planning) and decision making. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on demonstrations, this workshop will draw from experiences of nationally recognized industry and FHWA experts to discuss NDE capabilities. Finally, this workshop will inform participants about recent advancements in technology and capabilities from other industries that can be applied on both steel and concrete bridges.
